# Disabled

This option allows you to "disable" a component. A disabled component will not show up in the Page Editor nor on the live site.
This is useful if you want to temporarily hide a component, or part of a component, without Flex Editors seeing it when they are using the Page Editor.
This is also useful if you want to remove something from a single instance of a component in order to avoid unnecessary duplication.
Note that if you do not care about the above and simply want to hide a component, you'll likely want to use the Visibility option instead.
